BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The owner of a trailer that broke loose and killed a man from South Carolina during a brief stop in Bakersfield is now facing criminal charges.
The incident happened back in September and was caught on surveillance cameras.
Hunter Wainscott, 18, and 32-year old Michael Evans were on a church mission in and stopped in Bakersfield.
The pair were standing on a street corner when the utility trailer detached and crashed into them, killing Evans and severely injuring Wainscott.
On Friday, Bakersfield police put out an arrest warrant for Gabriel Garcia. He is the owner of that truck and trailer. Garcia is now wanted for vehicular manslaughter.
