Poway Winter Festival

After that winter storm we just had, come out to Poway Community Park this weekend to experience what winter in San Diego is supposed to be about — magic and charm.

Do you want to build a snowman? Or roast marshmallows by the campfire? Or skate on a synthetic rink? They’re all here at the Poway Winter Festival. There is also a free photo booth.

The Poway Winter Festival goes from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

2018 Padres FanFest

The boys of summer are back and you can get a chance to meet all of them this Saturday before they begin the 2018 season.

The free event at Petco Park includes a virtual Home Run Derby, Brietbard Hall of Fame and bounce houses. You can also get signatures from your favorite players and buy collectibles and memorabilia at the Padres Foundation Garage Sale.

The Padres FanFest goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you need to claim your tickets at the Padres website.

Jurassic Tour

Dinosaurs are taking over the Del Mar Fairground this weekend. Come see your favorite dinosaur come to life at Jurassic Tour — don’t worry, they’re animatronic so they escape and destroy San Diego.

The “tour” includes dino rides, fossil digs, bounce houses, and the Dino Theatre and Band.

Jurassic Tour goes from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $27 for kids and $22 for adults. Dino rides are extra.

Blessing of the Animals

This tradition has been happening in San Diego for more than 300 years (who knew?)

The Benediction of the Beasts celebrates St. Anthony of the Desert, the Patron Saint of Animals and is happening this Sunday.

There are activities for both humans and their furry companions, including a pet costume contest.

The free event goes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and is open to people and animals of all faiths and convictions.

San Diego Brew Fest

San Diego is a craft beer town. This Saturday, you can experience what makes San Diego beer great.

The eighth annual San Diego Brew Fest is bringing some of the best and most popular beers from around the county and world into one location — Liberty Station. There are also food trucks to pair with your beers.

The Brew Fest goes from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $45 for unlimited beer tastes for three hours. The $55 VIP pass gets you an additional hour of beer tasting.
